Are you still putting sugar in your spaghetti sauce like a peasant, Anon?
Take the baby food carrot pill instead. Toss in a jar or two in lieu of any sugar you usually add in. It will incorporate the sweetness better into the overall dish and also add some vitamins.
Any other spag sauce tips?

people that do this can't cook.

spaghetti sauce isn't supposed to be sweet.
it's supposed to be umami.

You need to balance it with salt, red wine and I add a bit of MSG. The baby food carrots add a smaller amount of sweetness than sugar would and a bit of earthiness

stop being that way.

Technically tomatoes are full of sugar. I don't understand why anyone would add extra sugar to a home made sauce since it's already sweet enough.

>> No.18053387

Just caramelize your onions and you don't need xtra sugar

>> No.18053393

>>18053311
No, I just simmer it long enough for the flavors to develop. Don't add carrots either

even this results in a sauce that's too sweet for me, i just get them sweaty and then add the tomato. TOMATO SAUCE SHOULD BE TANGY. Simple as.

Use grapes instead of tomatoes if that's what you want. Tomatoes are a poor choice for a fruity dish.

Yes? And many fruits are acidic, tomatoes are especially acidic. That is the character of the tomato. the sweet tastebuds are in front on the tongue which is why sweetness easily overwhelms other flavors and annihilates the palates of fat fucking american garbage that eats too much sweets, has sugar bread, sugar milk, etc.

Just use tomato paste you toasted in the oven to get rid of the acidity and for a nice brown colour.

You put sugar in your spaghetti sauce? My spaghetti sauce is just tomato sauce, browned ground beef, and italian seasoning until it tastes right. I think I'll make spaghetti tonight because my brother's coming over, what should I add?

Carrots for sugar are a meme anyways. Onions have almost exactly the same amount of sugar but add way more flavour and will even dissolve and thicken the sauce. Shallots are even sweeter.

I'm sorry they don't pay you enough to get quality ingredients in Europr Marco. I'm sure if the whole village pools their resources together they could get you a ticket to the United States.
