What are your favorite cheap meal ideas?

>> No.18052801

It's more like a snack but I love egg broth. Simply chuck an egg and some spices of your choice in a cup and pour hot water on it. Done. Love it in the morning and when I have trouble sleeping.

Whiting or gurnard at 5 Euro for 2 kg is pretty cheap when in season. Zander is a top tier fresh water fish that costs nothing if you have an angling rod.

Potatoes straight from the farmer cost 5 Euro for 10 kg, for the best variety. Onions cost the same.

Turkish shops here sell gigantic white cabbages for 1 Euro a piece in season. They conserve really well in the fridge but get tedious after 2 weeks of eating the same vegetable.

Here's a recipe that's a bit out of the ordinary (unless you live in the German speaking parts of the alps): slice cabbage paper thin with a mandolin add yoghurt and/or buttermilk, rapeseed oil, salt and pepper, caraway seeds or cumin, mustard or grated horseradish.

Tuna "Chorizo"
>can of tuna
>medium onion
>half lime juice + zest
>red pepper flakes
>cayenne powder
>paprika powder
>turmeric powder
>4 minced garlic cloves
>salt/pepper
>2 eggs
>15g olive oil
>mustard
>sriracha
>30g almond/wholewheat flour
>fresh cilantro
>dry basil
Mix all that shit. Let it rest in the fridge for some hours. Remix it and shape it into sausages or patties. Fry it up in olive oil until the point where they don't break apart easily which requieres burning off a lot of the moisture. This shit tastes just like chorizo although with a different texture. Eat them as is or make a burger or something.

Dont waste your eggs for this kind of disgusting pagan shit.
Better prepare a comfy dessert:

Imho its tastier wiith added egg whites beaten into a foam with a tiny bit of salt, cause then it gets awesome light texture. You can add vanilla or cocoa if you like. Fags will kvetch about food poisoning, but it never happened in my 40 years of eating this tasty stuff.

I'm not sure about other fags in this bread, but here in Australia the good deenz are still $20-$25 (AUD) per KG, which is the same as pork, more than chicken, less than beef. It still works out cheap though because you don't neeed a lot of deenz per serve.
