It's perfectly normal that colleagues are people you otherwise would never choose to hang out with, but unless you work from home, you probably spend more time around co-workers than your actual friends. You depend on eachother, not just to get shit done but to make the time you spend at work suck as little as possible, so getting to know eachother is a good idea.
