hi, my name is daryl and I am wondering how to get into tendies. you see, i cannot afford to eat at raising canes but their fried chicken fingers are delicious.

I have tried breading and frying chicken a few times and it is a lot of work and i get no where near the flavour and texture of "raising canes chicken fingers"

but i see people here seem so fond of the chicken fingers their mothers purchase for them. seeing as how i have a foodstamps and access to a variety of grocery stores, I can go buy my own chicken tenders. what brands could you recommend?

imho, cheaper is better as long as it still taste good, and i would prefer to go to stores with lower mark-ups and their own non-name brands, like WINCO. grocery outlet seems to have quite a variety but its also somewhat of a random pick since I am unfamiliar with the various 'chicken tendies' brands. I also have access to costco, whole foods, trader joes, sprouts and safeway.

I do not have access to an aldi's though i would bet they excel in the 'chicken tendies' department. how are their $5 18in pizzas? jw

It sounds more like anon is saying you make money so you can buy what you want. Personally I would recommend getting a more fulfilling job that you enjoy doing but it's up to you.

Why do Americans have a random piece of fried toast with their fried chicken and fries? It seems so uneccessary, do you make chip butties out of it or do you literally just feel the need to have an extra piece of bread to go with all the other fairly dry food?

It’s for the closed styrofoam containers. Putting the crispy bread on top of the food absorbs all the condensation from the steamy hot food in the box, thereby preventing them from sitting in their own sweat.

you can't use regular old grocery store chicken breast to make tendies, you specifically need the pectoralis minor muscle. That's the slightly more pinkish/brownish really tender strip of muscle like in pic related.
I suggest you buy a couple of whole chickens and break them down yourself. harvest the tendies and freeze the rest of the pieces for later meals.

It's called a chicken tenderloin cut i think.

Also OP please use breading recipes that use cornstarch.

if you work at raising canes you can sneak all the tendies you desire and get paid for it, your free time is worthless anyway

hey durl. >>18027488 >>18027497 these absolute lads are correct. some based grocery stores have them sold as tenderloins, and you gotta marinate them in something basic (spices, maybe pickle juice if you like that kind of thing). I don't like canes because I have a better local place near me with lighter, crispier breading, but I do know that canes uses a full batter dredge rather than egg -> flour -> breading. make sure you season the shit out of that too. be careful not to overcook them, as tendies are the most fragile part of the bird. enjoy fren

when I make tendies the breading always ends up falling off the chicken when you bite into it like an onion ring. how do I make it stick to the meat better?

can anye neets here recommend some good grocery store tendies?

can any grocery store tendies compare to raising canes at all? dont resturaunts like applebees and dennys also use frozen tendies?

the frozen tendies restaurants use are from sysco. I don't know if you can buy them if you aren't a restaurant. maybe if you save up all your good boy points and buy like 400 at once. I don't bother with grocery store tendies, they are worse than no tendies at all.
