Is it the brand? I used to enjoy deenz last year but stopped eating them. Today I tried this. Awful taste. Then I tried them with sides - I mixed them with spinach, pasta, hot sauce, eggs and sea salt. Still Awful. I think I will have to give up on deenz. The cheaper deenz are okay as bulk protein as long as they're packed in EVOO. Stay away from Beach Cliff unless water packed (they don't even have EVOO packed afaict)

King Oscar is $10ish/lb and better deenz can run even more. It's not just about price. Good deenz are just absolutely delightful prepared simply with quality accoutrement

Supposedly the ocean is overpopulated with sardines and other smaller fish since faggots back in the 70's and 80's overfished all the sharks and other larger species of predatory fish. This is a problem since small fish eat zooplankton, which normally keep algae in check. Humans should eat more smaller fish rather than larger fish so the food chain can fix itself, and prevent massive algae blooms. Sardines are also very sustainable since reach sexual maturity after only one or two years, and they can be harvested from their schools without bycatch.

Tried these today. Can't recommend. The fsh was bland. They made no attempt to remove bones; they left the whole ass spine in there. The hot sauce is not hot, but built up by the end of the can to pleasant level of heat, so it has one thing going for it.
