If I want a beer I pour myself one. I don't need some retard off the street buying it for me.

I don't get the controversy. If you don't want to tip write in zero and it will be zero. The auto gratuity in this picture is for people who don't even sign their receipt. The beers for the kitchen are also completely voluntary and just a whimsical option. You faggots will get mad at things that literally do not infringe upon your spending in any way.

A bar tab is when you have a running check tallying your drinks. When you leave you pay the total

>> No.18013486

>I don't get the controversy.
I think it's just the proximity of the unclosed tabs notification to the option to buy a round for the staff. In my experience unclosed tabs resulting in an extra charge is very common at bars but I've never eaten at a restaurant and had my drinks go on a separate tab and I'm assuming that this is just the drink menu at a restaurant, although likely a restaurant with a bar. Hell, if you order food at the bar alongside your drinks you probably get a regular check when you leave. I think tipping is dumb but this thread seems dumb as well.

As an aside; in some languages tips are called "drinking money" so I guess the practice of buying the staff a round of brewskies isn't that alien after all. It does however also come with the implication that tips are extra income to be used on something frivolous rather than, you know, your actual and only salary.
