pretty top tier honestly

Is there anywhere where the scene is focused on German lagers or blonde ales? I'm sick of stouts and IPAs everywhere in New England

>> No.17992559

texas has a good few of those

>> No.17992676

Good due to age. West coast IPA protects us from hazies somewhat, and old established brands like Deschutes can continue making non-IPA things. Lately, there's good lager breweries.

>> No.17992769

Hipsters have ruined it by pushing garbage quality IPAS with meme designs. Quality is no longer a factor, it is purely packaging novelty.
Almost every single drink feels like a scam.
I know there are good IPAS because I've had some before, but it's a real diamond dozen.

>> No.17993719

good selection i guess, but the market already offered a good "conventional beer" variety before hipsters imported the craftstuff over.

High Savoy, France.
The "meme packing and flavours" never sticked here so all the micro breweries that popped up chose classic packaging usually referring to the region, each with a choice of brown, blonde and white beer, plus something fancy like an IPA or lambic.
People don't have taste for stouts here so I've yet to see a local one.

I grew up in Northern California where craft beer was great and plentiful, now I live in middle of nowhere Texas where a high ABV malty syrup counts as “craft beer”. Feels pretty bad man.

craft beer really caught on here, probably because most of our beer was shit before, the scene is big. it has all the meme triple pastry sour IPAs you would expect. of the two more typically Polish styles of beer the strong baltic porter is more represented, while the low ABV smoked grodziskie is not very popular, which is sad but not surprising

There's a huge amount of beer here. Most of it is mediocre. We recommend Burial and Bhramari to all the tourists so that the handful of genuinely good breweries don't become crowded and shitty.

Best in Canada. Lots of shitty IPAS as most breweries got into the competition of who could make the highest ABV bitterest IPA. Now though most are making some really high quality drinkable beers like pic related. It’s all relatively expensive, but if you know someone in the industry you can get is for almost nothing.

Fine, should be better than it is outside of Chicago. Too many breweries have really weird selections at the wrong time of year or 12 ipa variants. Still enough options to find good ones here and there. Looking forward to heading up to Madison, WI and checking out what's new with the breweries I frequented in college.

saisons are a style I haven't really tried as I mostly stick to german and british beers but should give one a go. I only have a pressure fermentation vessel but my spunding valve is fairly accurate. I can't seem to find good info on what psi I should set it to for belgian style ales.

I live in DC, which is pretty garbage, very little variety. Before that I lived in Vermont during the huge boom they had; at first it was mostly IPAs but right around the time I moved there was more variety, especially with sours

There are lot of options, pretty much every town has a brewery, no matter how small. Most breweries are still churning generic IPAs for some reason.

However, if you explore a lot there are some really innovative, unique and delicious beers you can find.
