Define "enough of them." Eating one can of deenz per day isn't going to kill you. Think about how many smaller fish a large fish like a tuna or swordfish has to eat over many years to have dangerous levels of mercury.

i usually have the normal season sardines in olive oil, i just had >>17990552 for lunch for the first time.

they were fine, the fish fell apart and was super mushy and the tomato sauce was fine. i guess the fish will fall apart if its packed in really acidic tomato sauce. it was basically like king oscar sardines in tomato sauce but without the bitter smokey aftertaste i get from them. it was just fishy tomato sauce which was fine.

the best sardines in tomato sauce ive had were the nuri brand, but that type of sauce is alot different, its like more sweet and has more herbs and spices in it, i guess thats the difference between Portuguese tomato sauce and americanized tomato sauce.

Deenzchads, I need your help:
I got some Ramirez sardines in olive oil. In general, they taste great.
However, the deenz comes with 2 pieces of something I'm not sure what is - bottom of the picture. Is this sardiner liver?

>>17993284
It's good for you. I've only ever heard fitness tards on youtube claim that deenz are bad for you unless they're packed in water (i.e. the worst tasting), because of all the extra calories from olive oil. If you're eating multiple tins per day as your primary source of protein, then yeah I could see how that might be a problem. I think most people here are only eating one tin per day at most. I compared the King Oscar brisling sardines in olive oil to the KO kipper snacks in brine, and the kipper snacks are cheaper while having the same amount of protein, but fewer calories. The sardines have more Omega-3s, but if you're really health conscious, the kippers would probably be a better choice than the deenz.

I understand some brands have a very poor consistency and flavour, but the Nuri's are genuinely delicious - chilli, tomate, and olive oil are all great.

But, some people don't like certain flavours - that's just part of the ride. Don't push yourself to like something you don't like. I'm sure you can find solace in some nuggies and ketchup

The Nuri spiced sardines in tomato sauce barely have any fishy flavor at all. Actually even the KO Mediterranean style sardines don't have that strong fishy taste. If you're just eating plain deenz in olive oil, then the fish flavor is going to be all that's there.

The brand hides the seasonings under the fish. Great texture, not the biggest I’ve seen. Unfortunately it doesn’t stand on its own, especially for the price. Couldn’t taste the paprika and bell peppers, only the fish and some apple cider vinegar. I still have the roasted garlic and lemon caper on my shelf, but the verdict so far is King Oscar is still the King.
