A Big Mac meal is about $9.50 where I live.

How much roast beef, artisan bread, or good cheese can you get for $9.50?

I can get a 10oz baguette for $2.50 at the store, and roast beef from the deli, which is $13 a lb. So basically I can get a baguette and half a pound of roast beef for the cost of a big mac meal. The big mac meal is about 100 more calories though.

Albini already acknowledged this quote was hyperbole meant to draw attention to bands he managed being dependent on convenience. I don't know why /mu/tards keep spamming it except for meme reasons.

Yea funny you should mention that, OP. I was thinking about that quote the other day as I was buying groceries.
A big mac meal is pretty expensive here and that kind of ruins the entire point of McDonalds. It's supposed to be shit and cheap, if it's only shit then what's the point?
Then I looked at the prices for shit like even simple thin cuts of beef, not even the good stuff...
It's all way too expensive now.
There may have been a time where that quote was valid, but now it's just depressing, it's not technically wrong because for the price of a big mac I can get some of those things, and it honestly tastes better, but both are way too expensive to even consider. I may as well go and order a fucking burger at that point.
I just want shit to be affordable :(

Why are you getting precooked processed beef? Buy a raw joint and cook it up.

Think about cost per serving, not total purchase cost. It's not like you're going to stop eating tomorrow. That's a poverty mindset.

What if I want a big mac meal and not a shitty roast beef sandwich? Did you think about that.

Don't expect the drunkards here to be thinking about tomorrow. Making your own food is always cheaper unless you dumpster dive or some shit.

for less than the cost of a loaf of fresh bread and some good roast beef you can buy an 8 pack of El Monterey frozen burritos, which you will enjoy much more.
