>want to use this knowledge to my advantage, but don't know how to cook with them
>idea.jpg
>drop a can of chickpeas on a bowl, add some salt and just eat them like a snack
Wtf this tastes great? It totally beats the bag of chips I ate earlier today, it's less calories, actually filling and only does good things for my health? This is HUGE!

Next time I'm going to add some garlic powder, pepper and lime. I'm excited, bros.

>protein
All legumes have poor DIAAS scores. Doesn’t matter if the packaging says x a pint of protein per serving, your body can’t make full use of it if the individual amino acids aren’t in the right ratios. You can’t put up ten doors if you only have 5 hinges. And You can’t make the amount of a given amino acid chain your body needs if you don’t have enough of each individual amino acid needed to build it.

if you're looking for lazy recipes for legumes, try red lentils. no need to soak them because they're so small. just pour 1 part lentils and 3 parts of water into a pot and boil them until they're soft, then add salt and spices. I like using garlic powder, cayenne, tumeric, cumin and black pepper. it ends up sort of tasting like a mediocre curry and you can either eat it as a soup or on top of rice.

Add a tiny bit of baking soda (not baking powder mix) during boiling. Can also add during soaking but i always forget it and when i don't, the result wasn't as good during boiling as when i add it to the pot. Be careful tho, it's literally half a teaspoon for a kilo of DRY chickpeas. If you'll overdo it, chickpea goes mushy and soak too much water. Might be good if you're doing veggie burgers or for a puree soup, but if you're up for hummus, try to keep it to a minimum or don't add at all since it affects taste.
