Women have zero appreciation for effort and ability placed into cooking a meal, unless they love cooking themselves.
In which case their idea of a romantic evening would be cooking it with you, not being served by you.

Real talk:
If you’re just trying to get laid, plating is all that matters.
Get a PF Chang frozen meal or something beforehand. Something with contrasting colors (dark sauced chicken with red pepper and green onions, etc), take it out of the bag, and put it in another container beforehand.
That’s so if she gets to your place early and sees you pull it out of the freezer, it’s in your own container and you can say:
>oh I did all the prep work earlier so I could spend less of the evening in the kitchen and more of it with you.
The contrasting colors are important, and ties into what I said about plating.
What matters most is how instagrammable the meal you put in front of her is. That is the most critical thing of all. Make sure you use a nice place setting. If you don’t have a gorgeous table, but don’t have a tablecloth to cover your shitty table up with, use a sheet if you have to. Make the place-setting as photogenic as possible.
Your effort doesn’t mean shit. Give her something she can post with #dinnerdate and #spoiled. Nothing turns a woman on more than making other women jealous.

Also, serve her some cheap white zin with it. Women love white zin, and it looks good in the photo.

I have gotten laid by making very basic red sauce and pasta many times. Women are incredibly easy to impress.
Having a clean place, chopping veggies with a big knife, and cooking onions and garlic in olive oil is genuinely enough to impress women and have them talk about how amazing everything smells, the bar really is that low.
