What's your technique? Pushing the preset doesn't work for me. The center is still uncooked. I microwave for 4 minutes then let it sit for a while until the heat soaks into the center.

Depending on size, 4-6 minutes. I'll then cut it open, squash it, add toppings like butter and paprika, put it in for another minute, then add toppings like sour cream and parsley.

Stab it a bunch with a fork and hit the potato button

Cover with a steamer. 3 minutes one side, 2 minutes the other side, test with thermometer, leave to stand.

The heat from the center cooks the potato.

Last time I had mayo, ham, grated cheese and fried shallots like the ones you get with Mi Goreng.

The best way to cook a microwaves baked potato is in the oven.

>> No.17887055

depends on the size of the potatoes, the quantity of potatoes and the power of your microwave
when i cook a plate of them (4-5 rather big ones) it takes 20+ minutes

Stab with knife or fork though out potato, wrap in parchment paper and nuke for like 5ish minutes. Baked is obviously superior.

My microwave barely reheats 100g of rice in 5 minutes. It would take 3 hours to cook a whole tato

You can't 'bake' a potato in a standard microwave, you can only microwave it, which basically steams the potato.

Microwaves work by causing water molecules in food to vibrate, producing steam and therefore heat that cooks food. It's a moist environment type of cooking.

An oven on the other hand bakes and roasts food, since it's a dry-heat method of cooking. Any exposed moisture in an oven evaporates and thus the surface of foods placed in an oven lose moisture content, causing them to undergo the maillard reaction, essentially browning of the surface of foods which is caused by chemical reactions that take place, causing sugars to reduce and intensify, developing a distinct and rich flavor.

A baked potato is entirely different to a steamed potato. It's an inferior potato and anyone that tries to make a 'baked' potato by microwaving it is a moron. It's literally impossible.

Brotatoes have one side which is broader than the other. I stab the top side and bottom. I have been sucked into your web of autism and it is hurting my brain. Didn't think I'd have to go into detail on how to pierce a whole potato to cook it.
