probably cayenne. because I rarely use fresh peppers and 99% of preground powder mixes seem to use cayenne.

I'm growing biquinho and habanero this year for pickling. I've grown peppers before, but this is my first time growing biquinho. I'm thinking of next year putting down an entire pepper garden.
The stores have the standard fare of jalapeño, bell, mini sweet, cayenne, poblano, and the popular/cheap ones shipped in from mexico. Some of the local farmers markets have expanded varieties but the past 2 years they have been way, way overpriced. I don't know if there are any pepper breeds that have their origin in my local area, but we do have a lot of different recipes using what we can get. I like smoked and pickled peppers personally, and prefer ones that are more flavor than heat.
