I've got this and it's great. I use it to toast bread, I make pizza bagels in it, I've baked cookies in it, toasted sandwiches in it. I can probably broil fish in it, but I don't want to stink it up.

The device presents itself as fancy. That's just a note on its aesthetics. It's actually a shit form over function design.

One way to up your toast game is to preheat the toaster
Most of them have spotty performance on a cold start
Get in the habit of turning the toaster on before you get your bread out so it can heat up internally

Based and this, I have the 4-slot version. Bought it used and it's still chugging perfectly. Also dig that it has the little handle, it's autism but toast gets colder faster if it pops up automatically and it makes enough of a difference to me. Plus the crumb tray is nice.
I've never actually used all four slots at once but it still feels good to have a massive fuck-off toaster if the need ever did arise.

Was gonna day this or cast iron. It toasts the outside and the steam travels through it heating the inside without drying it out. You can use a lid if needed, and I usually spread a thin layer of bacon grease on the bread.

>>17872561
You *get* to flip your toast manually. How often do people complain that automatic toasters never toast to the perfect golden color, it's either too blonde or too dark. That's because the time it takes to get the desired doneness depends on all kinds of factors like the temperature and humidity of the air, the hydration of the bread, the density and type of bread. You can never just set a timer and get perfect toast the same way you can if you're actually engaging with your food and toasting it manually and looking at it with your eyes. Automatic safety toasters give you "convenience" at the cost of quality, connection, and soul. (And yet how much time do they even save, when most people spend forever fiddling with the stupid dial anyway?)

You wouldn't accept an "automatic" skillet that cooks a steak on both sides simultaneously in an enclosed area according to a preset time and temperature. You know that would be shit. Why then do you accept the same for your toaster?
