Im trying to expand my sardine options. This is all I eat for now. What else is good that's available in the Midwest?

>> No.17861546

>>17861537
Everything's available everywhere for canned fish. It doesn't expire for years so you can just go on Amazon and order whatever you want without limiting yourself to local stores. Probably even cheaper buying that way too.

>> No.17862637

Amazon puts the Wild Planet ones on sale for about $2/can every couple months. They are so good on a piece of toasted garlic bread

>> No.17862882

i like bar harbor wild herring the best and they have them at walmart
https://www.amazon.com/4-cans-Nuri-Potuguese-Sardines-Tomato/dp/B005UKU9FG/
these are the best sardines you will ever taste but are way too expensive from the shipping, worth a try to see what a humane canning process should be like vs the soulless machine goyslop in the stores

Why aren't smoke sardines a thing? I get smoked sprats at the local polski sklep and they taste delicious. Would love to tasted some smoked deenz.

Go on Amazon and buy these. They're steep at about $5-6 a tin, but it's a whole other level of sardines
The downside is you'll never be able to go back to king oscar or wild planet after having these without noticing a drastic drop in quality

Where can I buy a 3 pound bag of fresh frozen deenz? Why are they always canned? Why must the mancuck species eat from cans like a house cat while fish are eating other fish that was literally swimming in the sea moments before?

100%. Like I said, the only downside is it will be tough going back to King Oscar or Wild Planet (the 2 best easily available sardine brands)
You will absolutely notice the drop in quality, just the same as you notice the drastic increase in quality once you try them.
There's also a video on YouTube where it shows the factory and a bunch of old Portuguese ladies prepping the sardines while they're still alive and going through the process of tinning them.
Just search Nuri factory or something like that

>> No.17867371

Olive oil is correct unless you're buying some bottom tier deenz like bumblebee or beach cliff where you need to mask the flavor. In that case I'd go with mustard or hot sauce depending on my mood

NTA but I went from KO to Season brand and it was not what I expected after hearing people talk about them. Haven't tried the Nuri yet but I prefer the brisling. Recently started seeing the canned in olive oil and jalapeno peppers and it's my new favorite.
