IBC is the best but I can't have it because for some fucking reason they use corn starch in it
Barq's was good before they removed the caffeine but now it's shit. Also corn syrup.

Corn syrup and its consequences have been a disaster for soft drinks.

This place, Maid Rite, used to, and may still, make their own root beer. They serve it in thick glass frosted mugs, and its so delicious. When I was a little kid, my grandfather would pick me up and take me there after school, and we would each have two maid rites, root beers, and share a fry.

Neither. Cola is flavored with kola nut extract.
Modern root beer is a soda pop though.
It's called beer because old fashioned brewed root beer traditionally falls under the category of small ales or table beers, low ABV beers brewed more for water purification or medicinal properties than for geting sauced on.
See also: birch beer, spruce beer, ginger beer.

I wish I could get root beer at a reasonable price where I live. I live in Finland and all I can find are 12 oz cans, for like 2–3 dollars / can. The times I've tasted root beer have left me craving for more but I'm not comfortable spending that much money on a single can.
