At work when the corpo coffee machines need a new pot, I double the recommended scoops of beans every time and the taste is better. Mother fuckers are putting 4 scoops for a whole pot like how miserable can you get.

Picrel, any tips for better brew out of this? When I make it strong it's passable but we are literally brewing with a bin of pre-ground beans. It's stale as fuck.

it's not the bed, it's your filter paper. fines in your grind clog the paper and stall your brew. there's no one stop solution for stalling but in generally you could grind a bit coarser, agitate less, use different papers, align your burrs, etc

Bros. I don’t know what I want. The last times I tried to make coffee it was so consistently shit I gave up and went back to just buying it from cafes. I now know it was mostly my ratio, buying pre-ground, and using bad water. But now I’m torn. I don’t know if I want to go all out on a nice pour over setup, or just buy a nice drip machine for about the same price. I also realized really that I like drinking espresso, but it is prohibitively expensive and time consuming. There, it seems like it saves money to just go to a shop.

Sometimes certain coffees just behave differently. I was brewing a geisha for a while which used to drawdown in around 5 minutes (definitely on the longer side) but it was delicious. At the end of the day you've gotta dial for taste, time is purely a variable for measurement, it's got nothing to do with the flavour of the coffee.

Gas prices went up. Coffee growing and processing costs to the farmers went up because of this. Shipping prices went up because of this. There IS some price gouging going on along the supply chain and with the roasters, but it's mostly gas prices. Whomst made the gas prices higher is to blame for this. I have used a similar model, you'll never get great results just given the quality of the grinder
you typically want a coarser grind setting and a higher temp because the finer settings will get you obliterated beans and a shitload of fines

>and force it out of alignment
no the alignment is perfect, i just "over tightened" it and the burrs locked together. the grounds are amazing after i got it unstuck. and i love grinding my coffee by hand, it really brings a whole new feeling to making coffee in the morning.
and it is silent, just the sound of beans being broken and ground up.

Maan, espresso from a bakery is so much hotter than what I get from a Flair. It's robusta-y bitter and shitty, but it's hot. No matter how much I preheat the Flair, the espresso comes out just right for drinking and not much hotter. I guess that's a good thing

>but mine does it cheaper
>POOR OMG POOR WHY ARE YOU POOR HAHA POOR
i could afford to buy a $10000 grinder, but i bought one that cost $280 and it does exactly what i need it to. you dont stay rich by buying things because they are expensive when you can buy the same thing for cheap. thats called being a fool, and a fool and his money are easily parted.

>built for espresso(but it can only really grind fine enough on the lowest setting, and can also grind for any other brewing method)

if it was only built for making espresso then it wouldn't have and adjustment wheel, the burrs would just be fixed to 1 setting forever.

also the model he used in that video is old (but the adjustment wheel is actually better than the new model which is metal and has no numbers on it for some reason)
