My theeth are far from perfect looking (completely healthy but my upper front ones now have noticeable discoloration I got from a fixed broken tooth as teenager), I refuse to get them re-done because it just werks and it would be a purely aesthetic, but nonetheless expensive procedure. My dentist shares my opinion, so whenever I'm there he takes the opportunity to shit on all those vain people who think they need some kind of Hollywood smile, he always tries to convince them to take a more natural shade when whitening or doing prosthetics, but in the end he has to do what they tell him or else he'd be jobless very quick, only relying on people who need REAL dental care.

$500 for the in-office whitening procedure. Its 4 15-minute sessions with a special light. Then an extra $200 for a take home product I use after 6 months to touch it up again (which is optional but I can afford it so why not). And I definitely saw a difference the first time I had it done, not all it does is keep it the same shade of white. I think it's worth it, but I can understand how even just the $500 every other year is too expensive.
