Are KitchenAids worth it? If not, what stand mixer would /ck/ recommend?

I think baking anons prefer to do the kneading by hand. The kitchenaids is just a gift people end up receiving at weddings and they don't see much use

>>17788221
Honestly if you do any dough/bread making I would pick one up, it's just way too convenient to ever go back. As far as attachments I would just go for the meat grinder one, the rest are way too overpriced ($220 for a fucking pasta roller attachment, or $130 for a spiralizer like come on now)

Baking anon here,

If I don't have to drag mine out I won't, but for kneading a stand mixer not only saves time, but can actually result in superior quality doughs for some things.

You’re conflating anons who bake with anons who just make bread.
There is more to use a mixer for than rustic bread.

This
I haven't looked into it but I think it's because they have deals with stores effectively giving them a monopoly on the consumer grade stand mixers
Kinda like how Texas instruments has made deals with colleges for the last 40 years to use the same two models of calculator, fucking TI-83

You can use a cheaper handheld mixer for easier task and you knead dough by hand.
What's the kitchenaids for?

If you're talking about bread, first learn how to knead it by hand and then you decide.

I can't tell you how many videos I watch where people use KitchenAid or similar machines for kneading and they still end up with a dough that's not properly kneaded.

If you're talking about cakes and cookies, the advantage of a stand mixer of any kind is that you don't have to hold it while it does the mixing, as well as having beaters that do a better job than the stick models. However, buy a model that's useful for your needs in terms of size, because if you buy a large model and you don't make stuff in large quantities, the mixer will not work as well.

Try to find one with a DC motor instead of an AC. Yes, they're worth it if you bake a lot.

I bought a used DC motor one and I love it.

And it’s a lot more convenient with a stand mixer than a handheld.
Plus you can be doing something else while the mixer takes care of whatever.
It’s not as if almost everyone who buys stand mixers didn’t already have a hand mixer, because people can’t usually afford the latter when just starting out.
If an electric mixer is something you use fairly often, you really do appreciate the upgrade.

Depends on what you will use it for. I liked my Bosch universal back in the day but when I had to go low carb due to health issues, I got rid of it because I wasn't using it. I have never really liked KitchenAids but that's just my personal opinion since I liked how the Bosch kneaded the dough and was easier to add stuff to and see.
