If you're not rich or you're not into shot profiling and messing with flow and pressure, you're not gonna get much out of a "fancy one".

So you don't need a fancy espresso machine. A Silvia will serve you very well. As for worth, no one but you can answer if the "hassle" is worth it. For example, someone who loves to pull shots might say the "hassle" is the fun part.

What I'm assuming happened is he got locked up with a bunch of peoples glass to be repaired (+and deposits) still in his shop and can't get to his messages. I know he was paying some chick he lived with to parse through that IG account's but the money seemingly dried up kek. Phenomenal artist though. Something something separate the art. I should have bought a jetfab off him years ago. I'd pay him in full and he'd just knock out what I needed that weekend ahead of all his other custies. Maybe in a few years I can kick him some cash for a heady v60.

Not ones who will HIGHLY undercharge me and send illegal substances in the mail for free. I know a bunch of real high end glass blowers, I just don't want to pay them. I've got no aptitude for blowing glass, but I've been electroforming copper onto bongs and pipes over the years. Just haven't held onto too many flower slides. Pretty sure I have a few more Slinger pieces in a pelican case in my storage but I would have to dig.

I ordered some single origin grinded for mokapot and for filter.
I really want to compare grind size from a fancy place to my own grinder.
After one year of making coffee I still have no idea if I'm doing things right.

Does your coffee taste good? Not sour not bitter? Is it sweet and balanced? All of these things matter more than what one roaster decides would suit what brew method.

Roaster grind level isn't some kind standard to measure to. They're simply trying to offer what they think is an averagely good grind size for a given application to make it more accessible for people.

When you bloom, you want all the grounds to come in contact with hot water so everything releases gases. Stirring (gently) will get all the grounds wet rather than just have the hot water pool on the top of the grounds.

Because "a cup" of coarse ground is not the same as "a cup" of fine ground is not the same as "a cup" of light roast is no tthe same as "a cup" of dark roast is not the same as "a cup" of loose grounds is not the same as "a cup" of tamped grounds.
