What would happen if you ordered a delivery through doordash/grubhub/uber eats and then you went to pick it up yourself and then cancelled the order after you left so the charge never goes through?

I've worked at 3 different restaurants now where not a single person ever cares to check who is picking up the order as long as they have the name of who ordered it. Could this be a way to get free food and also get the food even faster than the shitty ass delivery service that somehow manages to turn a 15 minute drive into a 1-2 hour long waiting affair?

I am pretty sure if you order it on Doordash, once they confirm the order and start making it, its too late to cancel for a refund.

Not the case. I had this thought because I was getting food through doordash and even though my card is fine and I have money in the bank and the restaurant was even already making it doordash itself just decided to cancel my order. I called the place to see why it was cancelled and they said they have no idea, so I went and just picked up the food myself. No charge ever came through my bank, so I essentially just got free food because doordash fucking sucks ass.

Doordash essentially prepays for the food. If they can't find a driver they cancel "your" order and eat the cost.

Should be fine until you run into your crackhead driver who knows your address and he shanks you.

find a place that just puts the delivery orders on a rack next to the register. several do it and anyone can just walk in and take the food.

If you're going to scam then scam big companies like Mcdonalds or whatever. Don't scam local shops.

Yeah, those poor local billionaires.

the onions are dyed by their own anthocyanin pigments, the natural purple color in red onions. Just add vinegar to sliced red onion and the natural pink/purple pigment will spread around.

Delivery services pay for the food up front. You aren't scamming the restaurant at all.

why scam anybody? just pay for your shit, absolute nigger tier behaviour in this thread.

Nah, that's just rude because then when the actual person shows up the restaurant workers have to go out of their way to stop everything they are doing to remake everything and set it all up and it's a huge pain in the ass.

If anything OP's idea is just to fuck over the delivery service and not the restaurant or any workers. Maybe he makes a doordash driver drive like 5 minutes to the restaurant before it gets cancelled, but other than that no harm is done. Restaurant gets their money, wagies aren't forced to do extra work, and the delivery service sees such a small loss that it doesn't affect them whatsoever.

Are you retarded? Do you actually think restaurants refund grubhub’s money when an order is cancelled?
