maybe outside the country, but the u.s. is huge. most states i know of have their own regional specialties sourced locally. for example, i live near the beach so we have a whole array of crazy good fresh as heck seafood dishes in my little area when it’s time for the salmon runs, etc. there’re our traditional dishes the tourists love to a little hole-in-the-wall smoked salmon place near me that’s been passed down for generations on the native american reservation that’s food is to die for.
you can find an wonderful number of delectable things here, but you have to be here, because it’s by the state, not the country. there are too many flavors to us to be able to pin down a single cuisine, that’d make sense everywhere. so the only side folks every really seem to see of us outside of the country is chains. yep.
