Well yeah, there’s a few solid reasons for that.
For one, American franchises in other countries tend to be cleaner and have better service, because outside the Anglosphere, those aren’t places where tons of poor people who don’t give a shit go to eat. Their poor people have much cheaper local options. So the American franchises can’t get away with poorfag-tier service.
Plus they always have more interesting items tailored to local taste in addition to the “normal” stuff.
And because they aren’t perceived as poorfag eateries, they can experiment with really cool limited shit that actually costs more instead of loss-leader deals.
Hell, Wendy’s in Japan did a limited ‘gourmet’ burger topped with a fucking slab of foie gras and sold it for ~$16 back in *2011*.
Imagine if Wendy’s in the US tried to sell a $16 burger today, let alone a decade ago.
