most places use paper straws now. they suck ass and dissolve within 30 minutes.

I'd like to see bamboo straws become more popular though. It's a renewable resource and it basically grows faster than you can use it.

When it's so hot out that I have to drink lots of water to stay hydrated a straw is the difference between swallowing so much air I become bloated and nauseous, and being able be comfortable all day. That said when I do use them I use silicone straws because they present zero safety risk and they have a larger bore than other straws, that allows maximum flow.
