As you get older you realise the importance of shopping lists. Once again I am kicking myself for not remembering something. Is it a man thing to be so arrogant or do women do it too?

Do you write shopping lists with 2nd and 3rd options in case your first choice is not in stock? I think I need to do that because when something on my list isn't available I seem to lose my mind and can't think straight. Often results in me storming out of the shop empty handed.

>> No.17742751

Men improvise with what they get. What they get is not important. Women have no creativity. They need instructions, and need lists to make sure they have everything the instructions say they need.

I hate grocery shopping so I make a list with/for my wife and send her. We usually look at the ads and clip coupons either paper or digital. We are cheap as fuck and usually only buy what’s on sale unless we have a “special” dinner planned and want to buy something for that specific meal that isn’t on sale. Since the pandemic began pork had been cheaper so we’ve gotten creative with pork loin recipes. She doesn’t mind it as she learned via me that saving money is like a game and we try to buy store brand or sale items and she’s even found some loopholes. Once I went to Kroger and noticed the ribeye shelf were empty but on sale. I asked the employee if I can have some and he said we’re out but I can give you something better at the same price. Long story short I told me wife and she ordered online and we got a shitton of filet for ribeye prices. I don’t have a “backup” product. But no making lists is important so you don’t forget nuttin

I usually plan what meals I'll be cooking over the next couple of days and write down the ingredients I need to buy. Usually I have backup meals with required ingredients written down too.

I plan for easy to substitute things, like if there's no kale, buy swiss chard, goes without saying.

This person seems hugely confused about what they think is health and unhealthy. Meat is good as long as its low fat? But some fats are good? But fat in dairy is also bad. And sugar is bad but I''ll eat all the different carbs available. And fruits!

I do kind of like the idea of this list though. If you're totally set in your ways and only eat certain foods, making a sheet like this would be helpful. You could make a hundred copies and then when shopping time comes you grab one, go through the fridge and tick off what you need.

I just use a shopping list for practical stuff like toothpaste, fish food and vacuum cleaner bags.

Fresh fish is in the harbour on fridays sold straight from the boat, tomatoes are straight from the farm april-september (saturday mornings only), bio wheat for bread is at the wind mill on saturdays, bio fruit/veg/dairy is on monday mornings (farmers market), meat is friday to sunday morning.
