I have some friends who don’t drink soda because of carbonation. It’s soda made for people who hate carbonation. Me, I like it. feels less harsh while still giving you stimulation.

nitro beer is so fucking stupid. i talk to a lot of competition brewers and they all pretend it is heckin' valid. i have never ever had a nitro beer where i thought "this is better than if it was just fucking carbonated with CO2".

did you read what i fucking wrote? yes, murphys or whatever decent stout is acceptable on nitro, but it would actually be a good beer if it was on CO2. there is nothing nitro does to improve over CO2. if you want a smoother and milder carbonation, you can literally just reduce the CO2 volumes per litre. using the right flaked grains you can get that creamy head, which is superior on CO2 with the correct level of carbonation for a dry stout (1.0-1.5 imho [budweiser is ~2.2 vol/l as a base point]). fuck nitro

I didn't like the flavor of nitro vanilla, but I really liked the texture. So this thread convinced me, I bought three cans of the regular flavor at the store.

Nitrogen does not dissolve in any significant quantity. The point of nitrogen is to act as a propellant to force the beer through tiny holes, which makes the CO2 come out of solution in smaller bubbles. You can achieve a similar effect with mechanical pumping, e.g. using a beer engine with a sparkler.

>a drink in a can
>that tastes best when you pour it in a glass
>still tastes flat
>has an inherently chemical aftertaste as a result of the nitrobrew

admittedly it's incredibly smooth to drink (especially when considering nitrobrew coffee doesn't cut down on the acrid taste there), but between the chemical aftertaste and the lack of any kind of carbonation or bite to the soda, it just coats your mouth and makes it feel a lot worse to drink. Especially since all of the head that forms just sits at the bottom of the can. Drinking from a glass as recommended is only slightly better, since you actually get some of the head when drinking it, but it still tastes like shit

>> No.17717569

I find regular Pepsi to be far too spicy, but Nitro Pepsi has a profound effect on me. The stuff is so chuggable a glass only lasts me like 20 seconds. I take one sip which turns into a gulp, put the glass down, then find myself forced to grab it and immediately return to my lips. I'm in a trance. Gulp, gulp, gulp, and then it's gone. I wish my mouth were twice as large and full of extra tongues and throats so I could experience this flavor even faster.

There are only two other foods that induce the same state in me. They are the McRib and the apple fritter from 7/11. I don't even particularly like either of those foods very much, I wouldn't say either is in the running for my favorite food, but both of them give me the same feeling of: I wish I had more mouths and tongues because I need to taste this more all at once RIGHT NOW. I cannot eat a McRib or a 7/11 apple fritter without jamming as much into my mouth as possible and scarfing them as fast as I can. Does this animal state for particular flavors happen to anyone else?

>> No.17717585

>>17717569
To expound on this more, the experience is like the palate version of paradoxical undressing. Something about the flavor of Nitro Pepsi actually increases my desire for another sip; it does the opposite of satisfy the craving for its own quality. It's as if every taste of Nitro Pepsi does the opposite of giving me a taste, it takes me farther away from the state of having satisfactorily tasted it. This leads to some kind of feedback loop where I'm forced to drink faster and faster in a desperate attempt to chase the fleeting taste right to the bottom of the glass.
