I bought some boba to make for myself. I was wonder if it would be possible to flavor boba by boiling the uncooked pearls in tea itself. I know most methods use syrup or honey, but I want to flavor them with more than just sugar.

If it was easy to flavor boba just by adding some ingredients to it, then don't you think that most boba places would be offering that?

I'm gonna guess it's either impossible, or just a huge pain in the ass, which is why they just buy those weird flavored "jelly pearls" instead.

I dont boiling them in the tea is a good idea, instead add tea when you're making the sugar boba syrup after they're cooked

I like adding a little citric acid and something floral, like rose or orange blossom water, or cardamom.
