Have you ever cooked and/or eaten a "non-food" animal? An animal that isn't considered food by mainstream society like a cat or a dog, or something that's considered too unclean to be eaten like an opossum?
What was it like? Did you catch any diseases or parasites from it? How did other people react?

Also had a wild eagle once. Also unchewable.

All you're doing is giving the redditors free rent inside of your own mind and soul.
Eat and live in such a way that sustains yourself, and makes you free from corporations and governments. Pay no mind to those who hate you. You do not need to fight them, their own hatred will destroy them in due time.

I didn’t eat it but my brother and is friend did. When they were ~12 they killed, cleaned and ate a squirrel. Shot it with a bee-bee gun. I remember them cutting tentacles off with a pocket knife and them rolling of the table. This wasn’t in the country mind you, they did this in a suburban yard. The squirrel was cleaned in the garage and roasted over a fire in the driveway. They said it tasted like chicken.

>> No.17678200

I'll do a short run through the list since I'm up in the middle of the night. I lived in asia for almost a decade, around/with tribal minorities from Burma in northern Thailand.

As a result I've come up with a set of rules: I don't eat things that inflict unnecessary cruelty, I don't eat things that contain offal or obvious pathogen vectors, ("IT HAS TO BE CLEAN FOOD"), I don't eat things that have not been cooked or given some provision of killing any 'inhabitants'... and the rest is negotiable.

Bugs need to meet these rules- they have to be CLEAN bugs, not covered in or filled with their own shit, they need to be healthy as bugs, and they need to be cooked- same as shrimp and lobster. I've tried ants, micro-shrimp, mealworm larvae, water beatles, bee larvae, crickets, and silkworms, and probably others I'm forgetting. Of these Silkworms are the biggest win- when fried in oil they are approximately like lobster tater tots.

OTHER weird animals- pangolin (yes, really, no not by choice, it was served to me in sort of a 'village gallery' meal between many different houses, and in one of the house a dude had killed a pangolin and his wife had made it into a curry) (this is actually the same circumstance as the bee larvae, above, but in different houses, as different 'curries'), water buffalo, wild boar, bamboo rat, bat, and I think I honestly got sold dog as pork once, and this was sort of also the consensus around me from the thai guys looking at "What the fuck are you eating bro", because there's a portion that just looked like dog tail more than anything else- for all that I remember the meat as tasting good, but I didn't feel good after eating it. And the circumstances I got it under were normal there, but still at the dodge end- it's normal to see food vendors grilling and selling meat from motorcycle side cars, they just usually stay in one place while they do a meals worth of grilling for a group of customers, and this guy fucked right off.
