Lol. A proper keto diet while eating at a caloric deficit can work pretty well for people. When I say proper I mean you eat a ton of green fibrous vegetables, lots of whole eggs, some meat, and when you cook with fat you opt for a small amount of butter/animal fat/coconut oil/olive oil. Grains, sugar, and most starches just aren't very filling for some people.

I've eaten low carb for almost a decade and have maintained good energy without relying on external caffeine like coffee or energy drinks, a healthy bmi, and good strength.

Some people are retarded with keto, they eat too much fat or processed food that advertises itself as keto or whatever.

That's true, but it also seems like they just eat a lot of processed food in general. And the combination of refined carbs + fat also seems worse than just carbs or fat on its own. Like you probably couldn't eat much plain bread or plain butter on its own but when you mix them together you can eat a lot more.

If you're just trying to lose a few pounds, yeah. I rarely deal with those people (and honestly, with a bit of self-control, it's not that much harder to lose weight and still eat the occasional potato). I deal with the fucks who are eating themselves to death, switch to a keto diet to literally save themselves, and gain weight the first month or two, telling me they're "Doing it right." It's a diet, you can't eat a god damned salami with mayonnaise and call it a snack.

So yes, I agree with everything but that second sentence. The "bulk" has to be low-sugar veggies, lean meat and low fat cheeses. If you rely on sausages and butter, it won't work.

>> No.17640850

>>17640832
>If you rely on sausages and butter, it won't work.
But it would still work as long as you're eating at a calorie deficit. Dietary fat doesn't have some magic property that keeps you fat even if you eat way less than your minimum calorie requirements. You just can't get enough calories from protein alone, you need the fattiest cuts of meat you can get ideally.

This.
When a lot of people think of KETO they think only butter and bacon all day.
You can eat vegan keto. You can eat tons of fibrous vegetables that the bulk of your food in weight are fucking salads but the bulk of your calories are still fat. There is more to diet than just macros.

Ketofags are retarded, but posting that image is kind of disingenuous. Most of them are already pretty active and healthy, and started the fad diet after the fact and them think that's why they're in good shape. That image would be much more appropriate for /fit/ posters who just think eating more protein will turn them into zyzz.

I know what fucking rabbit starvation is. You'd have to eat no fat whatsoever and already be malnourished to get that. It's not gonna happen when you are a fat fuck trying to lose weight.

Not only that it clearly say they eat a small amount of fat.

If you are going to die from eating a diet that is 20-30% carbs 50% protein and 20-30% fat then maybe you aren't up to snuff for the gene pool is all I'm saying.

I wouldn't say they aren't filling, it's more that they don't last long.

I used to do the typical "big bowl of cereal" for breakfast. By about 11am, I was starving and irritable and ready to rip people's heads off at work. <img class="xae" data-xae width="100" height="32" src="https://s.4cdn.org/image/emotes/49bde730_shoopdw2.png">

NOT eating anything for breakfast was actually better since my blood sugar didn't crash and make me want to kill everyone in sight.

Even now on keto (because diabetes), if I cheat for a few days I start feeling hungry long before mealtimes again. (Not nearly as bad as the "big bowl of cereal" era, but enough that it's noticeable.)

False, I haven't been drinking "liquid sugars" since, I dunno, twenty years ago or more already. Keto for the last five years. Still can't lose weight. When I first went keto I dropped about 25lbs and I've been stuck ever since.

Early on they're probably afraid that if they start eating carbs again they'll return to their previous weight. Keto recommends lots of low carb vegetables so it shouldn't be a problem with scurvy, but people on the carnivore diet can have more of an issue with that. Supposedly you don't need as much vitamin C if you don't consume carbs but I don't think no intake at all works either.
