Corn is an important agricultural and industrial crop. I don't know what happened in your wacky cartoon, but in reality, most corn is processed into oil, biofuels (over 40% of American corn is converted into grain ethanol for fuel), livestock feed, and other uses that justify its subsidies. A surprisingly small percentage of it actually gets processed into food.
