When I was little my dad would give me 3 potatoes and tell me to count them. And if I I look longer than a minute or so he would call me retarded, and mix the potatoes around, and tell me to count them again.

Yeah, for $6 they give you $0.50 worth of potatoes and oil. Great deal. Goes well with the $10 hamburger.

they give you a treat that requires otherwise owning and operating a deep fat fryer and fresh frying oil, as well as a mandolin to cut fresh fries. Sure, with this equipment, you could make your own cheaper. are you ever going to? I'll admit 6$ is steep for fries, but this is a silly ass argument. I would much rather pay extra for something I need specialized equipment for than the other half of this equation (the burger), something I could make with a fire and a piece of slate i picked up from a ditch.

I just get disappointed when I eat Five Guys, for the same price, I get an excellent burger from a local place with sweet potato fries and a beer.

everytime I get a craving for a burger I'm always reminded why I rarely eat burgers in the first place

>> No.17567567

The thing that i think this guy is trying to point out is that the "extra" fries that you get id already offset by the steep burger and drink cost. So the whole thing about them "gifting" you stuff is pretty disingenous. Also the profit margins of these corporations are so large that they throw away pounds of this stuff when they seat out for too long, they are basically giving you the shit they were already gonna throw out anyways.

Last time I went to 5 guys, someone ordered a large fry for the group expecting OP pic and all they got was the big cup full. Anyone else experience this? Have they stopped filling the bag with extra fries? It was the only reason to go to 5 guys besides the peanuts

It's been a couple years since I last went but the same thing happened to me last time. I always get the snack size fries because they disregard the size of the cup and fill the bag, but they actually just filled the snack cup. Very disappointing, i also was concerned they changed their ways permanently.

ever had soggy fries at 5 guys when other times they used to be crispy?

"Brand Standards" from the secret shoppers would be that they would have to shake the fry basket at least 5 times to remove excess oil. if they didn't they lost a whole point. they changed that rule and now the places don't shake the basket 5 times to remove excess oil before pouring them out into the bin to be salted.

I went back in november and they still dumped an extra scoop in the bag with my order of small cajun fries. I honestly wish they could just offer a container that fits the whole serving instead of this gimmick that turns the bag and its contents into a greasy mess. Like, just dump all the fries into the big container they use for bunless burgers. Don't make me fish around the grease-soaked paper bag looking for scraps.

Retard soyboys who cant deepfry due to being scared of a little hot oil should gtfo this board. It's called using a deep pot you fucktard. Make sure your food isnt wet when you put it in and it won't even spit. If your IQ is too low to execute a basic cooking method, you might as well just stay safe and eat microwave pizzas for the rest of your life, lest you somehow kill someone useful to society.
