I have a bay tree in my yard and yes they do work. Though if you use them fresh it can be easy to accidentally oversteep them and the dish can turn bitter. But when done for the right amount of time it adds a nice peppery, eucalyptus kind of leafy almost “heavy grass” taste. That’s literally the only way I can describe it. Never tried them dried though

That’s how they taste dry. I usually add them to a pot of white rice. More eucalyptus taste than anything else but still good.
