How is that weird? Peppermint shakes are probably the 4th most basic flavor after vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry (maybe cookies & cream too). As a kid I'd frequently take vanilla ice cream, melt it, and add a drop of peppermint extract

Like hell it is. Chocolate Mint is way ahead of peppermint, and there are a ton of more popular flavors before that including cookie dough, rocky road, birthday cake
Peppermint is a flavor that only shows up during the holidays.

Chapman's puts out peppermint ice cream sandwiches around Christmas every year and they're pretty good. They also do a peppermint ice cream by the tub but I haven't tried it.

Yeah, fair, but that's a combination Jews are quite familiar with. On passover we have horseradish with charoset (a mixture of apple, nuts, spices, and wine like a kind of sweet relish) and eat it with matzah.

It's a banana on a piece of bread topped with sugar and cocoa powder. Sometimes I butter the bread and use honey instead of sugar.
