I didn't get it from a farm I got it from the grocery store. According to my Mom she looks at our eggs before she buys. She says this egg was flipped in the carton to hide the feather. At our community grocery stores it's not uncommon to buy dirty eggs and good shoppers make a habit of checking eggs before they buy to avoid cracked eggs. I've observed eggs at the store with brown splatter on them and other issues.

I told my family it's just a feather.

She's very, vary wasteful caring little for the environment. We live in the Canadian Arctic and the nearest compost is not available to the public (a privately owned compost at the greenhouse). I said to not throw it out and I'd use it now (I was going to egg someone's property) but she did anyway and squashed it so I couldn't retrieve it later.

I don't think we can compost outdoors in the arctic since from October 15th to April 15th there's snow on the ground and temperatures are at least 0°C. In Whitehorse, YT they've successfully composted in enormous facilities due to heat generated by certain bacteria.
