Went out for wings with friends the other day and I thought about taking the bones home for stock. Does this make me a crazy person?

How would you react if you were at a buffalo wild wings and the dude at the table next to you pulled out Tupperware to take the bones home?

I'd probably never talk to the piece of shit ever again and send him anonymous death threats.

No, it makes you a rational person. You paid for that food and you have every right to consume it. Just because others are thoughtless and wasteful and do not think to use the bones as stock for soup, doesn't mean you have to be like them.
Never apologize for claiming the advantage.

just ask for a carry out container. no one cares, if anyone actually cares enough to ask just tell them the truth that you're taking them home to make broth. they might think it's a good idea but more than likely they won't ask because no one cares.

I'd fart and never think about the tupperware ever again.

Follow up question:
Would you take everyone else's wing bones home? "Everyone else" meaning the other members of your party? If one of your friends took your bone scraps home wwyd

There's something I wouldn't be able to overcome about knowing some amount of their spit is going to be in my broth. Even though it's meaningless since I doubt they have any bacteria in their gobs that could live through boiling broth water but... Just one of those things I wouldn't do.

I'd definitely take home my own bones though. Not sure why I've never thought of this.

The woman is a self-proclaimed environmentalist. Brings her own re-usable plastic take out container things, kinda neat actually. It's been embarrassing a handful of times not so much because the concept of using washable containers is weird, but the reaction or change-of-flow (like places that assume they are to pack your leftovers for you) has made it awkward. She even does it at dairy queen, gets them to make a sundae in a glass jar.

I feel stupid for reading that. No one cares, you shouldn't care. If someone ran into buffalo wildlings with a suit and mask then ran around to every table begging for them to dump their bones into a briefcase at most it would be, "lol that's crazy" or "lol that's funny" then everyone would go back to to not giving a fuck.

I'd be disgusted if any of my friends tried to take my slobbery chicken bones home, and I'd absolutely embarrass him about it with everyone else so he'd never try it again. That's not being resourceful, that's just being gross. It's barely above pulling bones out of the trash.
