Lies, I love a good soup. Chicken noodle (or barley!) is definitely a good I'm sick soup, but more often than not I do just a plain veggie soup. When I want to change it up, it's either the Zuppa Toscana clone from Olive Garden, or scotch broth.

Roasting your own garden tomatoes for a roasted tomato soup has got to be one of the best meals I've had. Winters here get cold af so most people I know appreciate a good soop

There used to be a nearby small hole-in-the-wall Polish restaurant run by a couple of q.t. immigrant sisters where I’d regularly get some zurek along with other stuff but sadly I went there one day and there was a piece of paper taped up on the door saying “out of business”.

Dunno what happened, as they were doing great business from what I could see?

A good hearty, creamy soup is probably one of my favorite meals.
Especially on a cold day.

If you can be bothered to serve a soup with each meal you'll likely be really fucking full and find it easier to maintain or lose weight. I've been cooking a lot of japanese style food and if you serve rice, steamed vegetables and soup with every meal you basically only want to eat a few pieces of fish or chicken or something. I used to think it'd take a long time to do, but really some stock with a few sliced vegetables (I usually use some of the others going elsewhere in the meal) with some miso towards the end and it is job done. I'm able to put out rice, soup, vegetables and two mains in under an hour. I find that women especially like the whole wasteful many small dishes thing, but really it makes controlling your portions compared to say ... the mountain of one pot sloppa much easier.
