Aheem. This was decadent. Very tasty and it melts in your mouth. But, anything more than 6oz is overboard. WAAAAY to rich.

I cooked a 16oz A5 wagyu steak, ate it all and proceeded to vomit it all up.
Far too rich.

Good use of money

I made a 16oz chunk of A5 for 4 people and it was just about right. ~4oz per person

Gonna stick with the American wagyu since u get a mix of both worlds

I overestimated how much I could comfortably eat. Thought it was gonna be just a regular steak but a tad more rich.

>> No.17463672

What’s the point of a5 wagyu. Bro it’s so fatty it’s like almost all fat and no meat.. so it like melts in your mouth cause it’s fat. But it’s too rich to eat more than 6 ounces of because it’s pure fat. Like just cook a block of lard if you want to eat fat and save 150 dollars.

>> No.17463688

>>17463661
American wagyu is fine, i'd take it over regular angus any day, but full blooded Japanese A5 wagyu is something else and you should give it a try once just to experience it.

No need to replace every steak in your life with it though.

I don’t want to give any dirty nippons my hard earned money for their snake oil steak. I’ll just ask the butcher for a block of suet next time I’m there and eat 4 ounce portion of that. Same thing

No, you idiot. I'm actually much richer than everyone here. I come here to laugh at how atrocious 4chan's food is. None of these steaks ITT are A5 olive wagyu. You're just 12 year old edgelords pretending to be fancy and it's hilarious!

>> No.17464530

Is Wagyu really that life-changing or is it overblown? Never had it once in my life.

>> No.17465248

Hey retards, you cut it into thin slices and thaw those individually so you dont get that gross grease slick that will never brown above. It also allows you to just cut a little at a time and save the rest, because eating a lot at a time is dumb.

because it's not actually that expensive if you're buying it yourself and cooking it yourself.

You're only paying $400+ prices at high end restaurants where you're paying more for the service than the meat.

>> No.17467373

>>17463701
If you're struggling to pay for things you shouldn't be eating steak. You shouldn't be shitposting about steaks either. You should be working on finding a better job so you can afford simple luxuries once in a while rather than feeling the need to sour grapes them to justify your lower middle-class lifestyle. We live in an age where blue collar work while dreaming of a wife and a white picket fence is both unachievable and obsolete. Stop trying to live in some "muh 1950s trad-life" fantasy because the politics board of an anime website is filled with reminiscing boomers who got away with that shit. Wake up bro, it's 2022 whether you like it or not.

Has anyone bought cheaper cuts of high quality waygu?

Would a traditionally tougher cut (but more flavourful) like chuck, flank or even rump be perfection if it was a5?

I feel it should have the tenderness of waygu but a better flavour. In addition it will be cheaper.
