why you fuckheads never told me about the wonder of cheap white wine?

this shit is literal crack. and I've been here trying to be 'classy' as my hair thins and my waist unthins drinking only red while the whole time just desiring to reverting to beer/cider that I know and love

I do like red, but I saw white as its degenerate lesser relative the wine family would rather not talk about at family events

>> No.17448006

I like to fuckin chuck a bottle in the freezer for 45 minutes on a hot afternoon then get buzzed while trying to beat the heat and watching King Of The Hill or some shit.

so you were grape racist? green grapes matter, anon.

>> No.17448018

If you think red is more classy that just shows that you don't know much about wine. There are high quality wines of all colours, even rose.

Good idea, I will pick up some bottom shelf white wine this evening
Haven't had white wine in at least a year

Roses tendent to be regarded as lesser wines in general, more like the beer of wines.
Reds are always the most expensives and sought after buy the rich.

Red wines are probably more expensive than whites on average but what does it matter when there are still white wines that cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars?
Most red wine drinkers never had a red wine on the level of the best white wines, they buy $5 crap from YellowTail.
Buying wine for status is gay anyway.

But red is still classier overall. A taste for white wine is more easily acquired.

It seems to be a common delusion among "classy gentleman" types that drinking red wine is sophisticated and drinking white wine is for women. If anything it seems like a taste for red is more easily acquired considering how often you see people faint praising white wines.

For me it's getting the Chardonnay from Costco (13.5% abv) for like 6 bucks after work and chugging it while playing vidya games for the the 2-4 hours before she gets home. Fun stuff.

One of my favourite red wines is like £3.80 from lidl. I think people have a bias in their head about cheap wines, they think it cant be good for the price so they end up believing it even once theyve tasted it they will convince themselves its bad, im not saying there isnt cheap shit wines but i think a lot of it is mental, doing a blind taste test would surprise a lot of people im sure.

go deeper and make your own jug wine from grape juice and yeast. We call it coon hooch in these parts because you sneak it at night..and it's garbage

It depends on where you live. Here I'd be stupid to buy anything except shiraz or NZ sav blanc for under $10.
Pino Grigio basically has no flavour. But I'm told that's only the bad stuff. Seems that for under $20 you can only get bad stuff though. Here.

Anyway we always told you to try all of the things, go to wine bars, go to tastings, go to vineyards, and keep doing that because your information expires.

>Roses tendent to be regarded as lesser wines in general, more like the beer of wines.
No they're regarded as girly like the cosmo of mixers. And that is just because they're pink.
>Reds are always the most expensives
Lol no. Do you live in a white wine region?

Oak Leaf is good shit. Bought me some moscato the other day.

Nah. You've got to try like 50 $5 wines to find a good one. But only 5 $15 wines, or like 2 $20 wines.
There are definitely bargains to be had, but you must hunt for them or pay up.
