The aristocracy is like everywhere else. The problem is the gap between the classes, in New Delhi you have mainly rich and middle class/upper middle class people and then outside you have people who cant afford private toilets and therefore the shitting on the streets meme.

A shitton of money come from scams and theres "businessmen" running multi million dollar companies whose whole business model revolves around scamming elderly bongs and mutts. Nobody can touch them because they ofcourse are well connected to the government and the local law enforcement. Add to that the opiates business which is growing stronger by the day and it mainly affects already poor areas. And all of that money goes around and outside of India through laundering and tax evasion.

And most of the population is poor and living below the "national average" because the national average only appears moderate-ish on paper. People indeed shit on the streets and take baths in cow piss.
