I did up some peameal (Canadian/loin bacon) and poached eggs in crepes with some parsley, hot pepper, shallot and lime puree/sauce. I had plenty of prep-time - The missus woke up late; apparently I tuckered her out.

I had pasta yesterday
potatoes the day before
so I guess it's rice today

I made my first risotto last night. Not a fan of mushrooms so I made it with peas and put a couple slices of nice local smoked bacon on top. Could've used some fresh parsley to garnish I suspect. It needed a little something to cut through the richness. Anyone have any other risotto favourites?

>>17423599
Risotto should be rich. You want to break it up, try drizzling a bit of lemon over your serving. Or, tomato slices on top.

Got some pork mince, mushrooms, spring onions, onions and garlic. Might just make a simple asian style mince and have it with rice. Or make chilli con carne and have it on rice. Or nothing.

Some danish rye with sourdough. It's going to sit overnight in the fridge and get transferred to room temp in the morning so it's ready to bake after work.

I tried doing a pot roast but it seems like my oven runs way too hot, plus the roast is small, so it might have dried up. Don't think I'll buy a chuck roast again.
