Why is eating right so fucking hard? I used to overeat and I would gain lots of weight so I started eating a low calorie diet but now I'm eating too little and still not really losing weight. What foods do I even eat? I don't really do a lot of exercise cause I can't because my back is fucked up but I still do a decent amount.

Eat more filling foods like veggies and drink a cup of water BEFORE every meal. Buy a low calorie sweetener to add if you absolutely need it. I'll usually buy cran-sometging juice and add a little bit of it to a glass of water.

Been proven to not be a good idea, you're not suppose to drink before, during, or after a meal because it doesn't allow the body to absorb nutrients, instead it just passes more out.

Counting calories is a waste of time. Just eat less processed foods and eat less in general. I don't even look at nutrition labels, just the ingredient lists. Make your own dinners, cook your own food. Weigh yourself every morning, and if you've gained some weight or want to lose weight, cut back on how much you eat that day. It's that simple. You might also want to look into fasting or intermittent fasting, there are a lot of benefits associated with it and you really don't have to eat every single time you feel a little hungry.

Pretty sure water is suggested during the meal to lead to stomach expansion.
The body would absorb nutrients after chemical digestion in the stomach and small intestine. That being said, it may make difference in absorption, I have no data to say otherwise.
