Redpill me on cooking food in hot water with plastic bags. Is there anything I definitely don't want to do this with? Any recommendations?

If you buy foodsaver bags there's no plasticizers, which is where the concerns of bpa or phytoestrogens come from.

Does food saver refer to the brand or style?
I found the food saver brands don't vacuum very well, even the Aldi brand Ambiano bags do a better job because of the way the air grooves are designed

It's a brand. If your vac sealer lets you, do two sealing cycles and press down on the heating strip.

This just seems unhealthy on principle, and a good way to increase your microplasic intake. No reason to veer from orthodoxy here
