Yesterday I cooked some bacon, and as I was throwing away the bacon grease, I kinda thought it was a shame. My family has never saved bacon grease, but I know some people do.
How do you save the grease, what do you use it for, and how do you store it? Have you had any experience with it?

I pour it in a little glass container, lid it and into the fridge it goes.

I use it in cooking various different stuff. Most recently, I sauteed blanched broccoli in some.

You can use it as a direct replacement for a variety of cooking oils, such as in a frypan, toaster oven, or even breads. Can add it to eggs, stews, ot anything else you want to add a complex savory note to.

I put it in a jar and store it in the refrigerator. I don't strain it.

I eat the grease along with the bacon

It's essentially 'manteca' or pig lard and a lot of people don't realize you can buy it straight off the shelf and it comes in a box. I believe it's the best tasting grease for scrambled eggs. Every mexican restraunt uses a lot of lard also. (No that doesn't mean it's bad or worse than any other oil.)

I cook at least a pound of bacon every Sunday. It's good to add to about any meal from salad to burgers. I always save my bacon grease for frying eggs, steak or vegetables. I have also used it in making bread(s). You would think it would add a bacon taste but it sadly doesn't. I even have a small jar of it in my Jeep. Good to use camping to fry shit or to start a fire.
All other oils and grease go into a container for later disposal.

There is no reason to save old burnt bacon grease unless you literally never buy any butter or cooking oil. It's a meme. It has some niche applications in baking, that's about it. Don't put waste fats in your body, it's one step above the gutter oil they eat in China.

That's a meme. How do you think lard is rendered out of animal fat? Bacon grease is just savory lard. Use it on roasted vegetables.

Strain it into a glass container and keep it in the fridge. I’ve been using it to cook eggs on my cast iron. Also good when you want to reheat bacon, throw a little grease on the pan, but in the bacon, and it crisps up again.
