Not exactly posting for OP, but what I would do if I could redo my spice situation with the spinner, and be limited to only nine.

>fennel seeds
>coriander seeds
>cumin seeds
>paprika
>turmeric
>flaky salt?
>I dunno, black, green, and white whole peppercorns

Basil, sage, oregano, thyme, and rosemary are easy plants to grow anywhere -- the first two are the only ones that have to be replanted yearly.

Garlic/chives/ginger are fresh, without question. The dried, powered stuff is a sad excuse.

Any spice that can come in seed/whole form, and then morter&pestel'd to desired consistency at the time of cooking. Max flavor, and it keeps much longer.

It's a difficult lifestyle to adhere to, but I enjoy it.

Depending on what you cook, swap out the turmeric or fennel for basil.

Garlic, Ginger, Rosemary, Thyme is always better fresh. Quit being a fag, buy a container for the sugar and actually free up a slot or two.

The OP pic is probably not the same rack as OP biught, which has 9 slots.

I had one with 12 slots for years and finally realized just how bothersome it actually is to use instead of just having the spices on a rack.
Now I have a regular rack and it's just altogether more comfortable, especially since it leaves more room on the table.
