Dude that makes no sense. 90% of our taste comes from our smell, and the way we pour 99.9% of our beers basically ruins that for half of the pint.

It doesnt matter what you drink anything out of if you fill it to the top. This is the most retarded thing about beer nerds. They buy all these specialized glassware, but then fill everything to the brim.

The entire purpose of a specialized glass is to either allow for oxidization or enhancing aromatics. Notice how for wine and whiskey, special glasses are used optimally to allow their aromatics be trapped and expressed in the best way possible. But in beer, we have pseudo wine glasses like Tekus, but they just get filled to the brim. Same with belgian tulips, snifters, so on and so forth.

If you really want to taste your beer, pour less of it.

I guarantee whatever you think makes it taste better is pure placebo. The cabonation diffusion thing is partially true though.

Saint Bernardus Abt 12 is my personal GOAT, I have a heavy preference for Belgians. Leffe Brown/Blonde, Orval Trappist, Westmalle, Rochefort 8, any of the Bernardus varieties, all of Chimay's Trappist beers, etc.
For beers made in the states, I am a big fan of Narragansett, Yuengling, Dogfish 90 Minute, and Bell's Two Hearted. Sam Adams seasonal spiced beers are great too, like their Winter Lager or Holiday White. Hofbrau Munich Lager and Sapporo are my go-to for cheaper imports, but my go-to for cheaper beer when Gansett isn't available is Yuengling Porter.
Recently I've had Yard's Washington and Jefferson beers and both are really nice, Washington's has a heavy hop start but with a familiar heavy porter/stout ending, akin to an Imperial but not really as pungent.

I fucking love beer, lads. It's the greatest human culinary invention next to the cheesesteak hoagie.

Dunno man. I checked reviews and they all say it's an OK beer. Not very complex flavors. I'll probably buy it cause I never had sour beers (Bret) before. €3.5 is really expensive if you compare it to the average beer, which will cost you less than 1€. Craft beers are about 2€ though

ive made dark and highly flavoured beers using lager yeast, and obviously many many typea of beer with different ale yeasts. as a homebrewer im almost done with lager because its fermentation is just slightly.more annoying (sometimes finnicky, takes longer and needs its powdery sediment to be gelatined or carefully left in a transfer). also theyre doing DNA analysis nowadays and some "lager yeasts" from major historical brewers are actually sacch. cerevisiae (ale yeast) just cold adapted. even further fuck with this is that you can ferment a beer at cold temps it seems as long as ypu increase ypur pitchrate to... the same doublesize pitchrate that lagers get.

the whole lagers=cold, ales=warm thing is falling apart big time.

belgian yeasts are a PITA but can have good results. also someone posted rochefort as theie favourite "trappist" beer. lol look up the yeast genomics of rochefort/WLP540. Thats english sweaty...

favourite beer is a dry irish stout made with golden promise malt, %4 or %5 flaked barley and 11% black malt

God get off your high horse you autist you're even more insufferable than wine bro's. I'm not saying you don't know more about yeast or whatever but you're obviously a retard for anything else. I'm saying the yeast being from England doesnt make Rochefort not a Trappist, using local (Belgian) yeast is not a requirement to make a Trappist beer. I only started drinking alcohol a few months ago because the celebratory aspect seemed fun. so far I've only had a few like ayinger brau-weisse, leffe blonde, delirium, and la chouffe. ayinger is what I enjoyed most and it was better when I had it closer to room temperature too. imports aren't the cheapest, what's a good american domestic beer that I should try?

Cantillon is considered the best by many people. I would reccomend getting a few different brands to try. They are all different and you may like one better than cantillon.

Drie fonteinen, girardin, tilquin, cantillon, Boon, oud beersel are all good choices.

It is, but also depending on the type. The longer the aged the smoother, I find Cantillon to be the most smooth and not too acidic.

Try some out and don't be afraid to try something new if it feels too strong.

Buying bottles at a bar is a fucking scam. 50% of the entire reason going to a bar is to get what they have on tap. The other 50% is the mood/ambience which the bar gives. Buying something which you can buy at a grocery store for 3-5 times less is an insanely dumb move. If you're in a bar with only shit beers on tap, then you're in the wrong bar.

Fight me.

Try some local stuff. In my experience they are as good as Cantillon but not as hyped since these local breweries generally have small production and can't export to have such a big reputation as Cantillon.

I can say with ease that some local stuff can be just as good. The people that I met from these breweries went ahead to isolate their local yeast so you can clearly notice the different fermentation profile from one to the other.
