>2000x less protein
Aside from the ridiculously bad choice of orthography (why is it so hard to write it as "1/2000th" -- wtf does 2000x less even mean?), you know what would have even less of a "carbon footprint"? Poisoning people so they die. One fewer human = one fewer driver of a fossil fuel car, one fewer user of electricity to power air-conditioning and bitcoin mining equipment, one fewer vaccine refuser, one fewer consumer of red meat, one fewer person to hang the elites from lamp posts when the day of the rope comes. It's a win-win situation for the elites and deluded environmentalists to just push poison as the alternative to red meat.

>two fucking thousand times less CO2 than beef

ONE bug maybe. But the number of bugs equivalent to the weight of a cow produces a lot of methane CO2 and so on.

Also

-Cattle keeps its own body temperatre, the one of insects depends on the surrounding -> energy consuming greenhouses

-Most of them is the chitine exoskeleton, yummy
-When slaughtering catle pretty much everything gets used, kill a million insects and you get a million exoskeletons, two million antennas and at least 6 million legs, gigantic amount of waste
-high allergenic potential of the protein. There is a reason we have a natural adversion to eating insects.

That trick with talking about ONE insect is so easy to raise without looking at the actual weight equivalent is a well used one when trying to advertise insect meat.

I'd imagine they'd just want to use whatever bugs have the fattest grubs for the actual meat and the adult bugs just for breeding. Probably at some point use some kind of synthetic bug cum to knock up a bunch of them to just shit out grubs constantly. I can't wait for the horrors that genetic editing these bugs will bring.

Insects are stupidly efficient little things. They end up with more useful "food" for humans in a few days than cows do in a few years, all while using up far less food to sustain themselves (all on a per-weight/protein/calorie basis, obviously). They don't waste energy growing hides, bones, big brains, etc. They don't have to breathe for 3 years before we can eat them. They produce very little waste and sustain themselves on shit we can't eat ourselves, and very little water. Their entire bodies are OK to eat (depending on the bug). Processing is minimal. It's very much more efficient.

Buuuuuut a spongebath is more efficient than a shower. I still shower every day. Every insect I've tasted was fucking awful. Personally the solution is a snowpiercer-esque bug paste or extract that you completely hide the flavor of (if there's flavor left in the extract).

Preferred solution is to stop third world countries from reprudicing at stupid rates but they're too stupid to stop on their own and we're too cucked to do it for them. Something's gotta give.
