Interesting. I agree that they are both delicious, but I honestly find Valentina (regular and extra hot) to be a little salty. Not overly salty on their own, but I don't like it with an already salty food.

Tapatio is my favorite everyday hot sauce. Good price, tasty, bit of a kick, goes with almost everything. Cholula does taste good, but it's pointless most of the time. Like if I'm eating chili mac, it would get completely lost in the mix.

Valentina and Tapatio taste the same, and you can get Valentina black label which is hotter, and they all cost like 1/5th as much or less than Cholula. Cholula is going for middle class white retard margins, Valentina and Tapatio are going for poor immigrants, but the actual differences are barely detectable.

It depends, my favorite hot sauces are just pure hell-fire heat.
This allows me to put very little in the food so that it can give me the heat without changing the flavor of my dish.

classic red tabasco is still pretty much the only hot sauce i use. nothing wrong with a bit of variation but i like hot sauce that is not thickened, is potent enough to be used dash-wise, has no artificial additives and doesn't have a lot of weird ingredients that only go well with certain foods
