Are alcohol free spirits good enough to drink neat yet? What's your favourite one?

Why the fuck would you want an alcohol free spirit? Isn't getting drunk the only reason to drink spirits?

No, I like whisky for the taste. Good scotch or even bourbon can be an amazing experience without getting drunk.
And drinking alcohol has its downside, like being unable to drive (US has pretty liberal rules around that but some other countries are more strict) or getting lower quality sleep.

I doubt that, i drink whiskey so now and then and most actually taste repulsive. Add to that the high price point especially for non-alcoholic stuff and it's just a total waste.

"Yeah bruh, this one has a subtle taste of ciggaretes and bleach".

just fyi ~40% of the taste of whiskey is alcohol

Why would you do that though?

My guess is that products like this are for bonafide alcoholics. Helps them in social settings, helps them feel like they're drinking even when they're not.

You did the math there.

What got my interest is alcohol free beer market. A couple years ago the only choice was Heineken 0 which is not drinkable, now you have all the craft choices in different styles, there are even dark alcohol free beers and some of them are indistinguishable from the alcoholic ones. It might be way harder to achieve that with spirits tho.

alcohol is an aroma carrier.
i don't see the point for this shit other than for former alcoholics to keep them from relapsing
