Why does this scare North Americans so much?

Most of the lightning rod cultural quirks in north america can be traced to the reconstruction era

Fish at the time was preferred by poor blacks on the southeast coast, and orientals on the west coast

Angloids at the time looked down on it and thought beef was the highest status protein

Fast forward today and you have karens having a cow over fish smell in the break room at work, it's ostensibly about the smell but it's just a highly abstracted form of hostility between ethnic groups

Fish? Anon we have 1, sometimes 2 aisles dedicated to catching and eating them in every warehouse store in America.

You sound like you're trying to refute something I said, but I'm not sure what it is you're trying to say. Most coastal waterways around here have people fishing. 99% of those people fishing are recent immigrants.

Ive eaten fish in canada, US and mexico. No one was scared

That's because you're on the coast and you have more dark people with more free time. There's more white fisherman in freshwater areas. Use some common sense.

My vegan brother keeps trying to convince my mom that by eating fish she's going to kill herself because of how "unhealthy" all fish is for you. My brother also is literally the most unhealthy person I know based off his blood work and weight problems. I wish covid actually fucking killed people.

>freshwater
That isn't fish, flyover-kun. That's some kind of biomass that infests mosquito pools and feeds on milfoil and giardia

I'm surprised you didn't recommend crappy, the freshwater "fish" (sic) so good it's literally named after what comes out of your ass after a pot of coffee

Freshwater fish from a large clean lake are fantastic, but these are harder to find every year. Back in the 2000s there were plenty of lakes around florida that had great crappie, trout and bluegill. All tasted wonderful and had beautiful flesh.

Flash forward to current day. I visited back home and like 50% of my catches had fucking worms and parasites. If you can find a nice reliable spot, great but there’s less every year.

I only do catfish if they’re small and someone else wants to do the cleaning. Usually just use em as bait.
