Question for expert food hackers. Is it better to use the crown bun from the cheese burger or the flayo? Most of the sauce sticks to the bun, so you're going to lose out on either the tartar or ketchup+mustard (and some onions).

I'm thinking I'd ditch the bottom bun of the cheeseburger, and replace that with the a top bun.

It's an entire bun that's missing. A hamburger has two buns. One on top, one on bottom. If you have buns that aren't pre-sliced, they each become two buns upon slicing. Half a bun would be cutting the top or bottom bun in half after slicing, or cutting the unsliced bun in half perpendicular to the standard bun slicing plane.

If I baked a bun fresh, I would have one bun. If I then sliced it in half I would then have two buns. One top bun and one bottom bun. If I cut those in half again I'd have two top bun halves and two bottom bun halves. I wouldn't do that though because half-buns aren't as good as whole buns for eating.
